Contact 20 Writers From Section 3

Now that you’ve created a list of at least 20 writers and verified both their work and their reach on social media, it’s time to contact these folks and get them on board. 

The best way to go about recruiting these bloggers is via social media sites, because email from strange senders has become very easy to ignore. 

Our most valuable resource has been Twitter direct messaging. But Facebook and LinkedIn also work very well for the same reason: Most of these social media accounts are linked to a smartphone. 

When you direct message a potential guest contributor, they get a notification on their phone, which means your DM conversation will often snowball into a phone conversation. 

Phone conversations, as you know, are where most of the real deals are made. 

If social media isn’t your strong suit, then there's nothing wrong with a good, old-fashioned email. In fact, this is the most typical avenue for blogger outreach. Here are a couple of examples:
