In this lab, you will do the following:
Create an installation script
Modify the installation script
Complete a scripted installation of an ESX Server

Prepare for the Lab
Request the following information from your instructor. The NFS server and shared directory will be
used by the scripted installation process to access its installation script on the NFS shared directory.

2:
Create the Installation Script
In this lab, you learn how to create the installation script used to perform automated ESX server
installation. This method allows you to quickly deploy many servers with the same configuration. The
process is simple and can offer an alternate solution when licensing of third party software is not cost
effective.

Open a web browser and enter the IP address or hostname of the server that will be used to
create the script in the
URL.

Server Scripted Installer
and click on the link that reads,

On the first screen, enter the information as shown in the table below:

On the second screen, enter the networking information for your ESX server. This information

On the third screen, check the box to accept the End User License Agreement.
Enter the partition information on the fourth screen as detailed in the table below:

Must include vmfs in the mount point field. If these terns are not respectively inserted the
installation script will not be rendered properly. Do not forget to select the correct boot disk from the
"Drive" column. This is recorded in Part
