Attachment 1 – Training Alert
Remote Feature Activation (RFA) Changes
Effective January 10, 2005, the following changes will be implemented regarding RFA (Remote Feature Activation) access. This affects all RFA users, Avaya Direct and Avaya BusinessPartners.
1. Training remains a requirement for new users or users wishing access to a new product family. Training is now available as noted in bullet point 2. However, the requirement of passing an on-line assessment as part of authentication is no longer being enforced.
a. RFA assessments have moved to Avaya University’s website, http://avaya-learning.com and will become part of Avaya’s overall certification programs.
b. The existing training materials, training-related Job Aids, Quick Reference Guides, Assessments and Practice Exercises are no longer available. At the RFA Home Page, existing assessment links will direct the user to Avaya University.
2. Documentation on RFA’s use is in the form of a Job Aid. This document is located at: http://support.avaya.com/japple/css/japple?PAGE=avaya.css.CSSLvl1&temp.groupID=211923. This is now the only required RFA Training material.
a. Chapters 1 – 10 contain generic information on using RFA.
b. Starting with Chapter 11, there is product specific information relative to RFA.
c. The existing Getting Started with RFA for xyz Product documents have also moved to http://support.avaya.com/japple/css/japple?PAGE=avaya.css.CSSLvl1&temp.groupID=211923
3. These changes are applicable to all product families in RFA.
4. These changes do NOT negate the need for a user to “register” for a product family, nor does it negate the need for the user to obtain a supervisor’s approval for access. More information about these requirements can be found in the Getting Started with RFA for xyz Product documents.
5. Should you need additional support for access to RFA, please utilize the document, Help Desk Information, located at http://rfa.avaya.com to locate contact information.
