According to official note from USASOC , Jade Helm is to take place across 7
States, however “Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) will only train in five
states:
Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado.”

The exercise, according to USASOC is to be conducted on both private and public
land. USASOC claim that the reason of such wide scale exercise is to prepare
soldiers to fight overseas. Diverse terrain of each State is one of the reasons.
In California
“About 45 percent of the state's total surface area is covered
by forests, and California's diversity of pine species is unmatched by any
other state. California contains more
forestland
than any other state
except Alaska…Even though most of the state has a Mediterranean climate,
due to the large size of the state, the climate ranges from subarctic to
subtropical. The cool California Current offshore often creates
summer
fog
near the coast. Farther inland, there are colder winters and
hotter
summers.

In Nevada

In Texas
“The Great Plains region in central Texas is located in spans

In Colorado “Colorado
is notable for its diverse geography, ranging from alpine
mountains, arid plains and deserts with huge sand dunes, deep canyons, sandstone and
granite rock formations, rivers, lakes, and lush forests…A little less than one half of the area
of Colorado is flat and rolling land. Extreme weather changes are common in Colorado,
although the majority of extreme weather occurs in the least populated areas of the state.
