The Pre-‐Sell Formula
Looking to start marketing to your audience? Then you might want to
consider the pre-‐sell formula below…
1. Build Trust
When it comes to pre-‐selling to an audience, the most important thing is building
trust. With YouTube being so personal, it’s very easy for us to build trust with
our audience.
Trust can be built through being honest, being personal, being relatable and most
importantly going out of your way to connect with your audience. Lets face it, if
your videos are good content you’re literally giving people access to your
knowledge for free. So the pre-‐sell becomes a lot easier…
2. Test Your Audience
We always advise testing your audience with affiliate offers and sponsorships
before you start selling your own products. Why? Because by doing so, you can
get data of what they react well too.
Was there an affiliate product that sold really well for you? Then you might want
to consider creating a product similar to this.
3. Be Subtle
Imagine following someone on YouTube for months, receiving awesome free
content in the process. Then, all of a sudden, that person starts selling the sh*t
out of something. Hard selling doesn’t work with a loyal subscriber base…
Be subtle with your advertising, but make it clear. When creating videos around
what you’re trying to sell, build content around it. Don’t just create a video about
how AWESOME the product is, create a video about a problem people face and
use your product as the solution.
4. Create A Pre-‐Sell Video Sequence
If you’re launching something big, you might want to put together a pre-‐sell
video sequence.
Using all of the above, here’s a pre-‐sell video sequence we recommend.
NOTE: This works only if you have a subscriber base of over 10,000 engaged
subscribers.
Launch Video 1: The Problem
This is just a video highlighting the problem people face without the product
you’re about to sell, get people involved and ask them to comment if they also
have that problem.
Launch Video 2: 5 Tips To Solve That Problem
Create a 5 tips to solve the problem video, but you won’t disclose the 5
th
one.
Create 4 awesome tips, but tell them you’re saving the best till last. Let them
know that tomorrow, you’ll highlight the 5
th
tip to solve the problem.
Launch Video 3: The Solution (Market)
The next day, release a video on the 5
th
tip to solve the problem. This is of course
the products you’re selling… make the selling subtle, and don’t over do it. Create
content around the sell, and highlight why they need it.
You can then…
•
Send them to the sales page to buy.
•
Send them to a pre order page.
•
Send them to an email list with an email funnel in place.
•
Send them to a blog post about the product (with a buy link)
Follow the tips above and you’ll increase conversions when you market to your
subscribers.
