Dorchester,
Massachusetts,
and
attended
the
Boston
Public
Latin
School.
He
holds
an
A.B.
from
Har-
vard
College
in
Architectural
Sciences,
an
A.M.
from
Boston
University
in
Art
History,
and
a
Ph.D.
from
Columbia
University
in
Art
History.
Currentiy
he
is
Professor
of
Art
History
in
the
Tyler
School
of
Art
at
a.
Temple
University
in
Philadelphia.
Mr.
Davidson
is
a
photographer
and
won
the
Group
17
prize
for
pho-
tography
at
The
Detroit
Institute
of
Arts
in
1969.
He
has
also
had
one-man
shows
in
Philadelphia
and
other
places.
His
articles
have
appeared
in
ARTnews,
Art
in
