Description:
============
Configuration software for the fire panel FPA-5000 und FPA-1200.

Compatibility
=============
RPS has been renamed to FSP-5000-RPS, as this version is only useable for the fire system FPA-5000 and FPA-1200.
Other Systems from Detection Systems or Radionics are not supported.
You can install FSP-5000-RPS now in parallel to American RPS-Versions on one PC.
Additionally since RPS 2.9.12 the version numbering of RPS is decoupled from version numbers of FPA-5000.

FSP-5000-RPS V2.9.13 replaces all former Versions of RPS for FPA-5000
(5.0.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.4, 5.1.5, 5.1.10, 5.2.35, 1.3.18, 2.0.49, 2.0.50, 2.0.51, 2.1.35, 2.5.30, 2.5.34, 2.5.36, 2.6.12, 2.6.13, 2.6.14, 2.6.15, 2.7.21, 2.7.22, 2.8.49, 2.8.50, 2.9.12, 2.9.13).

You can configure the following FPA5000 Versions:

If an older version of FSP-5000-RPS for FPA-5000 is installed on your PC, please deinstall it, before installing FSP-5000-RPS.
The existing database of configurations remains, you can use it with FSP-5000-RPS if you choose this option during installation.

When you create a new configuration, you will have to choose for wich firmware version of the Panel it will be:
FPA-5000: 1.x, 2.0, 2.1, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.10, 2.11
FPA-1200: 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.10, 2.11

Upgrade of configurations
-------------------------
You can upgrade a configuration to a higher version-level, if you want to install a new firmware on your panel.
Select in the database-view a configuration, right-mouse-click will offer you an "Upgrade to".
You can either upgrade the existing config, or make an upgraded copy of it, if you prefer to keep the old one.

Upgrades from or to FPA-5000 configurations to FPA-1200 configurations are not supported.
Nevertheless existing FPA-1200 configurations can be imported to an FPA-5000 configuration by using the feature
'Import from other configuration' in the context-menu of 'Node'.

Hints for the usage of FSP-5000-RPS
===================================

Usage of USB for connections to FPA5000
---------------------------------------
The PCTRL Hardware V2.x/V3.x supports connection via USB.

The latest USB drivers are always copied to the \FSP_5000_RPS\RAMV\USB (in case FSP_5000_RPS was your installation path).
In case of communication problems please update these drivers manually.

General procedure to follow for a manual upgradation of drivers
1) Connect FPA-5000 to the system via USB.
2) Now navigate to ?Device Manager? -> via ?Control Panel? -> ?Administrative Tools? -> ?Computer Management?.
3) Expand the node ?FPA Devices?, right click on ?USB FPA5000 Device? and select ?Properties?.
4) In the ?Properties? page goto the ?Driver? tab and select ?Update Driver?.
5) In the dialog which follows - select the option which indicates that you should specify the path where the
   new driver can be found. Enter the path of the new driver as C:\FSP_5000_RPS\RAMV\USB (assuming that you have
   selected to install at C:\FSP_5000_RPS)
6) Windows will now update the USB device drivers.

Note : The drivers are digitally signed now. A driver for Windows 7 / Window 8 (64-Bit) is available. Please refer to the installation guide
       "USB Driver Installation Windows 7 and Windows 8.pdf" in the driver directory.

Note : Ensure that you run FSP-5000-RPS installation as an administrator.i.e Right click on setup.exe and select "Run as Administrator"

---------------------------------------

After the installation of this driver you can choose in the Panel Communication dialog "USB Connection".

Attention: plugging the USB of the FPA5000 to a PC/Laptop will produce a Ground-Fault at the panel.
This report can be ignored for the time you are connected.

Maximum length for USB-Cables: 3 meters
