From the
editor
It's October 12th,
and I haven't
started putting
together the
November issue
of GoNaked
Magazine.
Thanks to Jeff for sneaking this pic of me!
At this point of the the month I usually have about 40% of the magazine already laid out,
all of the articles are written or are coming in, and photographs have been chosen for
the issue. But as I write this from Spice Restaurant in Cleveland at 7:14pm on a
Saturday night, I'm not worried. I'm thankful.
There is good reason I'm this far behind. Life is incredibly full, rich, and rewarding. Sure, it's exhausting
and bombastic at times, but it is filled with color, and sound, and opportunities. It is filled with friends,
and libations, and work. It is filled with chickpeas, and office supplies, and guitar riffs. 
How can I not be thankful for everything? Here's a quick list of things that come to mind as I slowly slip
into a more intoxicated state. (Don't worry - I've already turned my keys over to the bartender and a
cab will be called at the end of the evening.)

Kilted Brothers
- my dear friend and roommate,
Jefferson, and I decided to launch a new men’s kilt
company. The thrill that I get sending in papers to
the state, applying for licenses, setting up
websites, creating fundraisers, finding capital,
working with vendors, photographing models --
it's a creative process that stimulates my brain and
gives me challenges to overcome. I hope my life
never becomes "easy"; give me a challenge and
something new to learn. For that I am thankful.
Health
- After 8 months of constant pain, my
piriformis syndrome is finally starting to get better.
Stretching and doing exercises for 60 minutes a
day is saving me from surgery, and I am no longer
popping 10-12 Advil a day. All I want Santa to
bring is a pain free day, and I think the fat bastard
is going to do it!
Work
- After having four wonderful months off it
looks like I will be going back to a full time job in
November doing what I love to do. Back to the
world of traveling 5 days a week, living in hotels,
and frequent flyer miles. I have sorely missed that
and I can't wait to go back. I am thankful for the
opportunity to work at a profession at which I
excel and enjoy.
Love
- My patient partner of nearly 31 years, Bob.
Bob and I don't walk hand in
hand down a path. Instead, we
orbit around each other around a
central point in the universe. Just
because you don't see the moon
doesn't mean that it's not there.
Along the way, there are the
Jeffersons, Russ-es, Zaks, Dans,
Rons, Michaels, Marcs, and a
whole bunch of other people who
spin and dance – giving and
receiving love at non-scheduled
intervals. 
You Guys
- Among the men
whom I love (mentioned above)
are you guys - the readers of GoNaked. I am
thankful to each and everyone of the 14,500+
subscribers and the 50K+ monthly readers. Over
the last 14 months, you have challenged me to
create something remarkable that I feel we all are a
part of. (This is now where the drunk guy sloppily
slurs his words to tell you, "I love you, man!".) I am
thankful to everyone who submitted a photo, an
article, a contribution, an email of support. You are
all amazing and I am thankful for each and every
one of you.
A few weeks ago, I sent an email asking readers to
submit articles because I was running low on
submissions. You guys came through with flying
colors. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
As we head toward Thanksgiving, let us all
remember who our biggest cheerleaders are. Let
us remember who makes up our families
(biological and chosen). Let us remember how
awesome we are.
May your Thanksgiving be abundant in every way.
