Warrington who died
in February along with their
manager in a tragic car accident
while on their first tour of Europe.
Kris Leonard, River Reeves,
Tomas Lowe, Jack Dakin and
manager Craig Tarry were young
and full of passion. They were no
different from all the other bands
up and down the country who
believe in a dream and have
the unwavering conviction that
they’re going to achieve it. They
were just like you, your mates,
your siblings, and that’s why
this tragedy has touched
people in the way it has.
Viola Beach’s album is
released this week. Even without
the backstory, it’s genuinely
good. As Kris Leonard’s girlfriend
Negin Karimi puts it in Barry
Nicolson’s brilliant and moving
piece, “This isn’t an album that
should make people sad – they
wrote songs to make people
happy.” Viva Viola.

amazing. excellently, it reveals nothing but manages to be fantastically
nostalgic. info on the new film is scant, but irvine Welsh, author of the
book that the original is based on, recently said the sequel will see
Renton, Begbie, sick Boy and spud find a “very innovative” way to
get involved in the world of pornography. sounds ace.
