Introduction
In automotive engineering, high standards of safety, operation, and comfort are leading to increasingly complex
vehicle control systems. These systems require a lot of information that must be supplied by sensors located
throughout the vehicle.
Although there are many different types of sensors in these systems, sensor function relies on just a few basic
physical principles and measurement processes.
This self-study program explains these physical principles and measurement processes in plain language, and
associates them with the different types of sensors.
